The web3 space can be intimidating.
Consider this a safe space for any and all questions. I am far from an expert but I'll do my best to try and share what I know. I encourage everyone else in the community to do the same.
Let's create a thread where folks can ask whatever they're curious about and confused by without judgment 🤓

Hey Peter, Fellow Mutant owner here. What do you think is truly possible for the BAYC brand, where do you see them in 2 years for example.
Also I'd love to hear your price estimations for all their collections =D
I feel like Yuga Labs just continues to execute, execute, and execute. It's pretty amazing to see what they've done in ~1 year since launch. They've gone from "just" a pfp collection to a global brand, have acquired Larva Labs, run massive IRL events, seriously innovated on airdrops + mutations, have had a successful token release with huge DAO engagement, and now they're expanding into the "Otherside"
I don't really have any price estimations other than I'd expect/hope for more up-and-to-the-right, but likely filled with plenty of volatility and pits of sorrow.
As always, NFA and DYOR :)
Hey Peter 👋
What was the 'aha' moment for you around web3 and nfts that led you to investing in a BAYC?
When a lot of smart people in my Twitter timeline started talking about NFTs, my head went to this Chris Dixon essay— The next big thing will start out looking like a toy
My "aha" moment was realizing that having all data publicly accessible on the blockchain essentially bifurcated the responsibilities of the
application
and the"database"
and would allow different apps/platforms to leverage the same source of truth. My OpenSea exchange could recognize me as a legitimate NFT holder, as could my Discord, as could the token-gated store, etc.
I wanted to buy into an up-and-coming collection that I sort of "vibed" with, and I felt some confidence in going big given that I had invested relatively early into ETH and it didn't mentally feel like the same risk as taking new FIAT out of pocket.
Love this.
Takes the concept of an open 'api' to a whole new level
Love the idea for this thread 🔥
A few questions from me:
What do you think about sign-in with ethereum authentication for websites that require user registration and community platforms such as Forem?
Do you think DIDs will become popular?
Should someone be trying to build a tokenized Forem community?
👀 point one! I’d enable that immediately 😀
I’d love to drop something in members wallets that create on MetaPunk
Would be cool to connect Forem badges to NFT's. For now, rewarding users with NFT's or a community token would have to be done manually.
Also, if MetaPunk badges were NFT's, instead of users having to go to marketplaces like OpenSea, would be cool if they could trade them between eachother on a marketplace inside MetaPunk itself. Sounds like a big undertaking, but maybe its possible to do it by integrating tech/infrastructure that already exists.
I’ll cut straight to it shall I? Why are there no Llamas in your portfolio?
oh here we go 🤦♂️
Hey Peter, did you manage to claim (and also mint any extra) Otherside plots?
