Bloody good question.. 🤩
And yes you guessed it, it 'depends'!
There are so many factors to consider here outside of the tech stack that would sorta make this decision for your really based on the features of the chain.
Cardano is cheap, Solana is feature rich, Ethereum has silly gas pricing yet a huge market place.
Also, you'd split this frontend/backend too from a dev stack perspective, all usual suspects on the front end including maybe a db to store non chain stuff when needed and then either utilising a js api for the relevant chain or full on smart contract creation and deployment.
It's a facinating space that I am just learning more about really, would love to hear other peoples perspective, especially from Dev @ben
Im exploring the idea of launching a tokenized + decentralized photography community. As a collective, we will be creating and publishing a print + digital magazine and wanted to also create NFT collections.
After asking around, im leaning towards using Polygon. OpenSea also supports Polygon, and most NFT collectors + volume is on OpenSea at the moment. The only issue is that people need to have a small amount of MATIC in their Polygon wallet in order to mint the NFTs. I've seen some teams ask users to send them their wallet address so that the team can send them the small amount of MATIC needed for the minting. This is not very ideal but it works. I really like the option of being able to bridge the NFTs between Polygon and Ethereum.
I was actually just messing around with Soulection+, they released their Community Gems earlier today on Polygon and the process was fairly easy for me, but im also someone who is comfortable with this stuff already.
Some people only consider ERC-721 NFTs to be authentic. But looking at Solana, Tezos, and Cardano, they all seem to have growing/thriving NFT marketplaces. It's not clear yet what this space will look like 2-3 years from now. I guess if members of a community already participate in one ecosystem then its a no-brainer but for a team building from scratch, this is a tough decision. Right now im looking at this from the perspective of how to make the process as simple as possible for users, especially ones who have never minted an NFT before.
One option is to skip integrating our own custom minting process directly on our own website and doing it all via OpenSea. We would mint the NFTs in advance and then put them up for sale. I believe that OpenSea also offers the option to embed an NFT or collection directly in your website.
I bloody love this idea, talk about in at ground level.
Have you also looked at Flow? I know UFC recently launched strike on there, have seen a few other flawless projects launch through flow.
I know that the Flow team is very experienced when it comes to NFTs but admittedly I don’t know much about that ecosystem. I do have some friends that only trade NFTs on the VIV3 marketplace on Flow. It looks like minting on there is invite-only for now.
What your doing sounds really interesting, would appreciate you checking back in and sharing progress, I know you’re big into hiphop and that music NFTs are taking off 😎
Thank you and I will be happy to share updates as we make progress.
Music NFTs have so much potential! I also really like the idea of selling videos as NFTs and the team at Glass are doing some interesting experiments. They showed me an upcoming redesign of their website a few weeks ago and I was intrigued.
👀 the UFC Strike NFTs are interesting, there were a couple of athletes actually wearing live jewerly of them recently at a press conference, weird to see that stuff happening.
Will have a look at Glass, thanks for the heads up there.
I love the explosion of experiments going on in Web3. Even YouTube seems to be getting ready to integrate NFTs. Im very curious to see how they do that, will they build their own blockchain or use an L1 or L2 that already exists today.
Interesting..

Hi
We are building a NFT portal on the sustainable blockchain SIGNUM - soft go-live in less a month - link signum-art-git-development-signum-...
We will also build token economics for royalities and on-chain candy-maschines … stay tuned
Loopring.
Haven't come across this, are you using loopring in your current projects?
Looking forward building new projects when GameStop marketplace will be available (confirmed will be using Loopring), you can use the network already on looprong.io. Long term the network looks really promising.
XRPL
Can you elaborate on this a bit? What's the advantage here
Signum and I hope to do it soon :):):)
